In this issue we pay tribute to "Bindi's pet Collie".
Bindi"My precious Rough Collie ,when I found her she was
only skin and bones, scared and starved. I took care of her and
I become her owner. Unfortunatelly I had to leave her there,
at the country side, my parents’s home. I used to go and see her every week because missing her was really tough!
Time flew and I grew up! Shewas old and that was not a secret for her. She refused to be a burden for any of us .
She had no idea the seing her in pain killed me inside,She tried to stay away from my touches because she thought that now,
she was useless and didn’t deserved all these. Ofcourse, I felt that I was not able to reward her as she deserved.
She was faithfull for almost 15 years. I remember the hit she recived for catching a burgler who wanted to steal apples from the
tree which was near fence. She was in pains for almost 2 weeks because that man hit her on the head . How many times
she saved us and our property!!!Her last birth left a sign behind: Cancer! My precious friend ‘s death was close!she was not
the way she used to be because that illness was killing her but she tried to make everything easy for me.She still jumped with
two of her feets on my cheast and I gave her all my affection! On June 4th 2001 she died on the backyard ! I found her and while
I was watching her dead body I knew that it will be no pain from now on for her!!! Her name was FETITZA (Little Girl) and she
will always be unforgettable for me!
About her breed:
The herding instinct is very much apparent in some dogs, but other dogs do not show this as much. Rough Collies are very loyal and
protective to their owners. They are a good family dog. They are eager to learn and to please and respond best to a gentle hand. They
relish human company and should be let outside as they need to run and exercise. By nature gentle and domesticated, they are fearless
in danger and will rush to defend their owners
