Easter
Easter is one of the most important Christian holidays, after Christmas. On Easter we celebrate the
resurrection of Jesus, 3 days after his crucifixion. When He was 33 yo, Jesus has been arrested,
tried and sentenced by Pontius Pilatus, a roman "ambassador", then He has been executed on
cross.That is named the Passion..and catholics think that Jesus died on Cross for the forgiveness
of sins. all 4 gospels describe the Jesus crucifixion, even some contemporary sources talked of it,
so its considered as a historical event.
Easter is celebrated on the easter Sunday, many countries celebrate even the Good Friday. Easter is
a moveable holiday..it means it doesnt have a specify date like Christmas..The First Council of
Nicaea decided to celebrate Easter the first Sunday after the full moon, related to vernal equinox.
In last years at Easter celebrations there have been added new symbols like the Easter Bunny and
the Easter egg, but they are not related to the real meaning of Easter. On Easter Sunday In Italy we
are used to give to children choco eggs with a surprise inside of it.
